Thomas Point Beach

Posted: August 28, 2014

Getting Ready for Thomas Point Beach this weekend. Can’t believe it’s Labor Day already….where did the summer go?  Last year I played a couple of sets at TPB and did a songwriting workshop. This year I can kick back, relax, and visit some old friends and songwriting buddies.

Looking forward to spending some time there with two of my favorite co-writers Ted DeMille and Rich Schleckser. We’ve written quite a few songs together and have got a few cuts in recent years. The band Nightflyer just recorded and released a gospel tune Ted and I wrote together “Gospel News”. It’s one of my favorite co-writes. Maybe we can start working on a new song while we’re there….hope so!

End of Summer

Posted: August 18, 2014

August is here, the summer is winding down. Spent a good part  of it in PT recovering from shoulder surgery. On the mend, getting a little stronger every day. Using a lot of my spare time to write  articles for Bluegrass Unlimited and getting ready for the release of my new Christmas album this fall “That’s What I Love About Christmas”. The street date is set for October 7th. Can’t wait!

Just submitted my most recent article to BU on Stephen Mougin and his record label Dark Shadow Recording. I was a good choice to write this one as I have gotten to know Stephen very well through songwriting together. Also he’s produced a lot of my song demos as well as the new Christmas album. The article hopefully will come out in the fall around the time of the IBMA World Of Bluegrass In Raleigh, NC.  Will have to wait and see.

……more to come!
